The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens [Part One]


So, i'm in love with the beggining part of this book. Sean Covey (the writer) explain what is Habit with beautiful words but sharp. This is the excerpt of the beggining part;

'Who am i?

 I am your constant companion. I am your greatest helper or heaviest burden. I will push you onward or drag you down to failure. I am completely at your command. Half the things you do you might just as well turn over to me and i will be able to do them quickly and correctly.

I am easily managedyou must merely be firm with me. Show me exactly how you want something done and after a few lessons i will do it automatically. I am the servant of all great individuals and, alas, of all failures, as well. Those who are great, I have made great. Those who are failures, I have made failures.

I am not a machine, though i work with all the precision of a machine plus the intelligence of a human. You may run me for a profit or run me for ruinit makes no difference to me.

Take me, train me, be firm with me, and i will place the world at your feet. Be easy with me and i will destroy you.

I am Habit.'


This is one of my reasons why i loved this book, and i recommended this book for you, especially for teenagers, because this book can change your mind (mindset).

Because Habits are a big part of a teenager's life. They always complain that they don't have time for anything because of all their activities. Some kids even go through stress, depression, and drugs. This is the reason why Sean Covey created this book, to help accomodate to these teen's hectic schedules.

These Habits are :



Habit 1 : Be Proactive
[Take the responsibility for your life]

Habit 2 : Begin with the End in Mind
[Define your mission and goals in life]

Habit 3 : Put First Things First
[Prioritize, and do the most important things first.

Habit 4 : Think Win-Win
[Have an everyone-can-win attitude]

Habit 5 : Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
[Listen to people sincerely]

Habit 6 : Synergize
[Work together to achieve more]

Habit 7 : Sharpen the Saw
[Renew yourself regularly]

To be sucessful, you must apply these habits onto everyday life. This will help you to overcome the problems within yourself. Then it will help you to create good relationships with others, and lastly these habits will help you to renew yourself. Maybe not every idea in this book will work for you, but you don't have to be perfect to see results, either. Just living some of the habits some of the time can help you experience changes in your life you never thought possible.

  • Get control of your life
  • Improve your relationships with your friends
  • Make smarter decisions
  • Get along with your parents
  • Overcoe addictions and self-destructive habits
  • Define your values and what matters most to you
  • Get more done in less time
  • Increase your self-confidence
  • Be Happy
  • Find balance between school, work, friends, dating, and everything else.

  4. How can I be proactive if I’m an introverted person? Really, when I’m trying to be proactive my heart said “no don’t, people will say things about you, you’re not that ambitious either, please just don’t, their mouth will hurt me so bad”. So, how? :)

    1. you're ambivert gurl😙. one thing that you must do, please and please just love yourself and be proud of yourself. i know how it feels, i really know. But, just say something positive to yourself. I believe that you can ‘be proactive', being introvert just reasons for urself to not doing anything and let 'pessimist' come into ur mind. please change ur paradigms.

      Because paradigms are like glasses. When you've incomplete paradigms about urself or life in general, it's like wearing glasses with the wrong prescription. That lens affects how u see everything else. As a result, what you see is what you get. If you believe you're dumb, that very belief will make you dumb. On the other hand, if you believe you're smart that belief will cast a rosy hue on everything you do.

      Maybe their mouth can hurt you soooo bad, but only you that can ruin/destroy urself and ur life. You've many choices to choose, be wise. But i believe that you 100% ambivert, or 70% extro and 30% intro✨✨

      [Jangan menjadikan Introvert sebagai alasan, jangan banyak alasan. Hidup udah hampa, Dikekang lara, terkadang menangis tanpa suara, dengan amarah membara, kadang membuat sengsara,menulis kalimat aksara, hatinya pun serasa mesra, punya ribuan alasan lagi lmao😂 ]
